Bridal Showcase 2012

It was kind of a big day today. Today was MY first bridal show!! I got to be "Bride-to-Be"! Now I know its not official yet, but I'm planning ahead and getting ideas. I also went to shop around and see what vendors are available for my big day. Below are a few cute ideas I saw.

This is a closeup of the branch. It was decorated with little crystals wrapped around the branches. This was so simple, but really elegant too! Below are a set of floating candles. The vases are wrapped with twine...still simple, but very pretty!!
This was from a cake vendor. She said this was made of rice krispies!
Below she had heart-shaped cookies decorated as a bride and groom.

Some of my magazines and handouts Becca helped me pick up today!
I had so much fun going around to the different vendors with my mom and Becca!
We were able to get some great ideas.
I'm looking foward to planning this big day with my groom-to-be!!

Feelin' like Christmas

It kinda felt like Christmas today! It was cold and snowy outside today.

I got these beautiful flowers from Tim, he is such a great guy. I'm getting a little spoiled, though. But I'm not complaining!!

This is my early Christmas present. I have been searching for one of these, and found one on NexTech. Mom and dad agreed that it would be one of my gifts for Christmas. I got it home, dusted off, put my jewlery in it, and have lots of room for more!!

Post-Op Day #3

Tonight is the 3rd night post-op, and I'd say I'm doing pretty well. I'm not having too much pain (its more soreness when I swallow). I noticed today that I was extremly tired, something I wasn't expecting. I'm really glad I took extra time off work, though. I think I'm most bothered by the stitches in the back of my throat. Here are a couple pictures from my hospital stay....

In each room there is an information board. This board lets the staff know a little more about their patient. Mom and Tim had way too much fun filling out mine!
The Surgical unit was full, so I got to stay on PEDS! My room had Starfish painted on the wall and was complete with a fish measuring chart!
Each room in Peds is decorated with a different theam.
I know I told everyone I was going home the same day, but I ended up staying overnight.
The numbing medicine wore off and I got nauseated so I decided I better stay incase I got sick during the night.
My nurses were so amazing!!! They took really great care of me.

Tim brought me this beautiful vase of flowers!
Maybe I should get my tonsils out more often? Ha!ha!
He is so good to me, and he took great care of me when my nurse wasn't around,
while I was in the hospital!

I am taking it easy, resting a lot, and eating a lot of ice chips, popsicles, icecream and snowballs!
My follow up appointment is on Thursday and I don't plan on returning to work until the 29th.
I'm just going to rest up and recover!
Thanks to everyone for your prayers and kind words!

10 YEARS!

I was working away today and Terri Seek, Chief Nursing Officer came into our unit today. When he comes in we never know if its a good thing or a bad thing! :) He handed me a little box with a pin in it....it was my 10 year service pin. At that moment I had a flood of emotions rush over me. I was kind of excited, then I suddenly felt really old!! Had I really been with HMC for 10 years?? I asked Terri if he was sure this was my pin, and he said "Yes, your name is on the list."

Still in doubt, I went to the HMC web site to find my hire date, and I couldn't find it...guess I'd been there longer than I thought. So the first thing I did when I got home was to find my copy of my application for employment. AND SURE ENOUGH...I filled it out in 2001! So I have come to terms with the fact that I have been with HMC for 10 years, and I'm truly OLD!!! :) I realy like working at the hospital, and am very fortuinate to be in the position that I'm in. I couldn't ask for a better work environment, or group of people to work with.

Goin' Costal 2011

So, a while back my boyfriend called me up and said he had tickets to this country concert and wanted to know if I'd be interested in going. It sounded like it might be like fun so I told him I'd go along with him. I'm not a big country music fan but I'm up for trying new things. I did a little research before going and down loaded some of the bands songs onto my iPod so I could be familiar with them before the concert. From what I heard, I figured it would be a good time. So, here was the lineup:

Uncle Kracker was my favorite! They were very entertaining and were a great sounding band. I'm a big fan, now!
Billy Currington was up next. He was not my fav, but still good.

The Zac Brown Band was another great group. I really enjoyed them as well.

The highlight, and the reason for going...Kenny Chesney! He is so entertaining, and not to mention, very hot! I'd be on the sandy beach with a drink in hand with him any day! :) He!He! He was very enjoyable and fun!

Tim and I had a great time! For more pics you can check out my facebook page. We are looking forward to our next trip back to KC. We will be attending the KC vs. Red Sox game at Koffman. I hear we have great seats on the lower level in right field near first base.

Here's my great boyfriend! I'm so lucky!!
