I'm Normal!!

So, my CAT scan results came back, completely "normal". Which leaves me wondering, what is normal? I still have awful pain in my stomach, terrible nausea from time to time, and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!!!! My doctor has decided to refer me to a GI specialist. Anyone know the in's and out's of insurance. Well, the hospital insurance leaves much to be desired. The GI doctors that go to HMC are not "in network", so I have to find someone else who is. The closest doctor who fits that bill is in Great Bend or Hutchison. This means a little road trip for me and the folks! On the plus side....there is a killer scrap book store in Great Bend, which I have recently discovered!!!! And Hutch has Hobby Lobby...also great for the scrapbook enthusiast!!

I had no great pics to go along with my little diddy for today, so I'm sharing a favorite Hawaii pic with you all. This is a view out of the plane window as we are making our way into Oahu. This is the South shore, where Pearl Harbor is located. This view is just so amazing to me!

It's No Pina Colada!

So, I'm still alive~

I had Tuesday off, but it was NO DAY AT THE BEACH! I went back to the doctor, because I'm still having stomach pain off and on. My doctor decided to have a CAT scan done. Ever had one of those? The scan itself isn't all that bad; it's the prep that's the killer! I had to drink "Readi Cat"...2 bottles, mind you! It has this odd citrus flavor...but nothing like a pina colada! I managed to get it down without incident...or so I thought. First I got a little nauseated then that slowly passed. Then I got diarrhea! It was the craps...literally. I'm thinking, "ok, I only have an hour until my scan...what am I going to do? I was so miserable, but thankfully it subsided long enough for me to go get my CAT scan. During this they inject IV contrast Iodine and you get warm and get a metalic taste in your mouth...like you are eating a penny! It's the wierdest thing ever. So now, I'm waiting for my results to come back. If they are inconclusive, I may have to see one of our Salina docs...I'm thinking they may end up doing and upper endoscopy (scope of esophagus and stomach). I'll keep you posted.

What I drank on Tuesday: It's called readi-cat and it makes your stomach and intestines easier to see on the CAT scan; it's not so much fun to drink, though!
What I wanted to be drinking instead:
A snow cone with icecream on the bottom from Matsimotos...the best ever!!

A "Monkey's Lunch"...my new favorite mixed drink!

Where I'd rather have been on Tuesday, and some of the things I'd rather have been doing:

I'd rather be on the warm sandy beaches of Hawaii!!!

Or Sky Diving over the North Shore!
