Happy Monday

What did you do this weekend?
So, if anyone needs a quick treat to fix and take some place I totally recommend picking up a box of Betty Crocker muffin and quick bread mix. On the back of the box is the instructions for the quick bread. This mixes up super quick and bakes in under an hour! I took these loaves to church for Sunday breakfast. The ladies in our church take turns providing morning treats for the coffee table. Also on Friday I went back to the doctor. I was one of the unlucky ones to get "THE CRUD". I've been fighting off this stuff for a couple months. I thought I was over it, but I started getting a cough and lots of drainage again, but thankfully I didn't feel quite as run down this time. So now I'm on round 2 of antibiotics. I've talked with people who have taken 3 rounds of antibiotics and are still trying to get over their cold! Consider yourself very lucky if you haven't gotten this stuff.
Church Sunday was such a blessing! Every 5th Sunday we have baptisims and baby dedications. We dedicated 9 babies and baptized 3 adults!!! We also had several new families become members of our church. It's so great to see the growth in our church.
Today I got to see Becca and her little baby, Eli. I can't believe how much he has grown since I've seen him. He is just as cute as ever! I have yet to fix my kitchen faucet today. Yes, it is broke! There is no water pressure, but dad seems to think that there is just a built up of stuff over the screen. Sounds like an easy fix, right?? I'll be sure to let you know. I'm telling ya, if it's not one thing, it's another!!!! Tomorrow it's back to work for me. They were pretty busy today, so that usually sets the tone for the rest of the week; we'll just have to see. I hope everyone has a great week!

Egg-citing!!

So, for Easter I went home. I decided to make my family a Mint Chip Cheesecake. I told my mom to grab my camera to document the events, "just in case something goes wrong, and I can show my blog readers how to "fix" it". RULE #1: NEVER JINX YOURSELF OR SET YOURSELF UP TO BE JINXED!!!!! So I'm going along, mixing up the cheesecake and everything turns out perfectly and the cheesecake is baking in the oven. and I start the clean up process. I go to move the Tupperware container off the stove and it's stuck! Yes, S-T-U-C-K!! So I pull a little harder and low and behold it had melted to the top of the stove. Some how the stove top got turned on. I promise you, it was not I!!
No, that is not an egg on the stove, that is the bottom of the Tupperware container.
NOW I'M GOING TO TELL YOU HOW TO FIX THIS MESS!!!!My first thought was to immediately scrape it off, but this is the wrong thing to do. Let it completely cool first. Then carefully scrape it off with a spatula. Then tape it on to the bottom of the container and it is as good as new!!!!
Needless to say, I'll never live this one down! I'm now on the hunt for a replacement container for my mom. If anyone out there knows of a Tupperware lady let me know. You'll find me at garage sales this summer hunting for a Tupperware container to replace this one that I melted! Did I ever tell you that I'm a mess in the kitchen??

Welcome

Welcome to my blog!
Some have blogs about their families, and others because they have started families, and some blog about thier friends or events of their daily lives. My blog is being started because many people know me as "Miss Fix-It"! Sort of a domestic diva, if you will. You see, I purchased my lovely little home in 2006. Since then I have learned to become self suffecient and I've had to learn to fix many things around my humble abode! I figured I could share my missfourtuines with you and maybe teach you a few things along the way.

My friends have shared in some of my missfortuines: like the time God sent rain down from the Heavenlies and I awoke to a basement full of water! I suggest to you if this happens to rent a shop vac or carpet cleaner and suck up the water then borrow a bunch of fans from your friends so you can dry your carpet. Thankfully I din't have that much water in my basement and I was able to dry my carpet quickly.

The next week I came home to a running toilet. It had run over the tank and into my basement laundry room. So I had yet another mess of water to clean up. By this time I felt as if I was living in Noah's Ark!! I felt like MRS. NOAH!!!! With the help of my dad's diagnosis, made over the phone, I set out to Home Depot to get the flush colum for the tank. This is an easy fix, but very hard to explain.....just take my word for it.

Tomorrow I will show you what happens when you melt plastic and show you and easy fix for it.
