Last weekend mom and dad, myself, and aunt Mona and Dakota all decended upon Kismet. The ladies met to quilt and the guys went off to Dodge City for sprint car races. I was told by dad that the sprint cars were better than Indy racing! Mom, Mona, Grandma, and I all had "projects" to work on over the weekend. Here are some fun photos of our weekend.

This is one of mom's projects. It's called "Funky Monkeys". The story of 5 funky monkeys jumping on the bed, one fell off,...you get the idea. It is going to be super cute when she gets it all finished. Mom also cut out an entire quilt top and had material for infant recieving blankets. I'm not sure if she got them sewn together, though. The blankets will be really cute when she finishes them.
When we got to grandma's she had all of these blocks sewn together. She soon realized she had sewn them incorrrectly!!! We all pulled out our seam rippers and ripped out the stiching so grandma could put her project together correctly! Here she is in her sewing room cutting blocks to be re-sewn back together. Needless to say, she sews like me sometimes!! Our projects took a lot longer than everyone else's.

Mom found dad and Dakota outside on the roof. Grandpa needed the yard light fixed and enlisted dad for the job...since dad is now an official member of the City of Goodland's Electrical crew. Dad goes out with the line crew once in a while and does electrical things around town. Dad also took on the job of plumber during the weekend when the stool backed up and overflowed. Grandma and grandpa's sewer backed up a little so dad fixed that for them as well. Oh, did I also mention the roof leaked during the heavy down pour we had on Saturday? Dad, Dakota, and Grandpa are all up in the attic when it was lightening and thundering, trying to figure out where the rain is coming in at!! Dad sure had an exciting weekend, too!
